Anyone know what batch/bottling date of the Rare Breed Rye is? The bottling date is on the glass, usually below the back label.

Think the new "bottle fly by's" are great production touches, KC Ryes are always a great value!

Around here the 7 year rye is $38, and the 10 year is $68. 😱 It had better be the best rye on earth to be twice the price (almost) but only three years older. 9:02 Whenever I hear someone say "CAR-mel" I think of KC saying, on @BeautifulBourbon, saying, "Or CARE-a-mel, if you have a degree." 😂 Of course, in the South it's always CARE-a-mel. 🙂

For a shelfer, I do really enjoy this one.

There is a KC Rye single barrel at 115proof

I am a Canadian whiskey drinker and my drink is rye & coke. I prefer Gibsons 12 yr, Wisers 15 and Canadian Club 18 = nothing too special but great for mixing!

Cedar Ridge's standard Bourbon is aged 3 years, but I'm not sure if it's still at the 3 year age statement then just bottled. Their Double Barrel is fantastic.

Would love to see a high west rendezvous rye in a bind heard good things!

Im trying mine against my pact 9 (only other one i have) and surprised how much i like pact 9 more. I didnt at first, but its been open for about 10 months now and 9 REALLY got better after opening up. Really hope this one does too (it will).

As a KC fan, I applaud your verdict on the 10 yr Rye. Hoping this catches on so it steadies any hype around this release. We don’t need to turn this into an allocated or heavily marked up ordeal. Saw them in Phoenix but went with a couple of bottles of Westward since I learned this will be a normal shelf offering… hopefully.

No a huge rye drinker, usually a Sagamore drinker for that. Would love to see a video on best ryes to use as mixers.

Wilderness trail BP rye currently $51 locally. Just hard to beat at that price

I was the same. Though the 10yr was just a little thin and lacking. Wished it was higher proof like the single barrel ryes.

Knob Creek 7 year Rye sells for $22 at my Costco! My older bottle does not have any age statement.

Cats don't count, they are more akin to roommates.

About a year ago my Costco had a single barrel of the rye cast strength and I think someone screwed up because they were selling it for like $26 cheaper than the regular 7 year

Sagamore double oaked is also a great bourbon drinkers rye. I am going to look for this KC 10 year one too.

Just got a Michter's barrel strength rye. Haven't opened it yet.

This describes the last couple of Knob 12years that I've bought. Oak is dominant and any other flavors seem watered down and suppressed. Knob Creek SBs are the only thing I like from them lately.

Wonder how this compares to the Jim Beam Black, Extra Aged. 8 years vs 7.

I really enjoy the New Riff 6 year malted rye.

My wife took me to Binny's yesterday to get me a Father's Day gift. I walked out with a Bulleit 12 year for $60, but it comes with an $8 mfg rebate to knock it down to $52. I cracked that one open with a buddy when we got home, and I was quite impressed even despite the only 92 proof. The Binnys employee pointed out the stack of Alberta Premium cask strength that they have on sale for $29.99. I was like, holy crap, less than half price! I've got a mostly full bottle at home, but of course, I grabbed one any way. So, I left Binnys with two very good bottles for well under $100!

I have a bottle of Knob Creek 7 yr Rye at home. I really enjoy it. I am a “bourbon” drinker and have 4 bottles of 4 Ryes and all 4 are so different from each other…. But i like them all. I have a Bulleit Rye, Knob Creek 7 Rye, Angel’s Envy Rye and Blackened Rye.

I tried the Knob Creek Rye 7 year at the Jim Beam distillery April 2024, and I liked it; I have found high Rye Bourbons are NOT to my liking.

Wish I could find the Pikesville. Been looking for months to score a bottle.

Funny! When I tasted the barrel proof and 12 year together I got peanut butter? Peanut brittle? Maybe peanut brittle was due to the buttery maple/ Brown sugar? Love this channel.

I loved the 10yr. As a noob bourbon drinking dipping my toes into the rye world it had everything that I expect from a rye + more. Super solid bottle for the price. Would love to see it in one of your blinds 🙂

I checked my KC Rye from 2022 not age stated but indicates 6 years 1 month old so they must be aging a bit longer for the new age stated label bottle. Cheers!

I'm about halfway through the video so maybe it gets addressed, but do you think this is a different mashbill than what goes into the Old Overholt 10 year? Or is proof/warehouse the only difference?

I have a Knob 115 proof Single Barrel Private Selected Noe distilled 10/6/14 barreled date, 3/26/20 selected date. I think I bought it a year ago.

You should try the smooth ambler contradiction rye. It's 105 proof and non chill filtered. It's $39.99 at Binny's in Illinois.

I’ve got about 30 different rye’s and I really enjoy the Sagamore rye’s, Prideful Goat rye, Pikesville rye, Rare Breed Rye, RY3 rye’s, etc. and a little higher priced rye I like Jack Daniels Harvest rye, Thomas H Handy, and Very Old Saint Nick Harvest rye! Cheers!
